YOUR 1 HOUR PERSONAL TRAINING SESSION...

Introduction and Aims

  • Meet your personal trainer!
  • Discuss any updates to your health or injuries.
  • Briefly explain what you hope to get out of the session.
  • Review your fitness goals and expectations.
  • Discuss both short-term and long-term goals.
  • Set realistic and achievable targets.

Body Measurements and Assessment

  • Record height, weight, and calculate BMI.
  • Measure body fat percentage using.
  • Assess water and muscle percentage.
  • Conduct a grip strength test using a dynamometer.

Warm-up (10-20 mins)

  • You are taken through a warm-up to increases heart rate, improves flexibility, and mentally prepares you for the session. 
  • This crucial step reduces the risk of injuries, ensuring a safer and more effective workout experience overall. 
  • In essence, a warm-up sets the stage for a smoother and more enjoyable fitness routine. 

Workout Session (30-40 mins)

  • You are led through a basic workout, incorporating exercises that will fit your goals.
  • Receive continuous feedback on form, weights and intensity.
  • Coached on performing exercises safely and effectively.

Cool Down and Stretching (5-10 mins)

  • You are guided through a cooldown routine to lower heart rate and prevent muscle soreness.
  • Incorporating stretching exercises to improve flexibility.
  • Discuss the importance of post-workout recovery.

Creating a Routine

  • Together, design a customized workout plan based on your goals, fitness level, and preferences.
  • Includes a mix of cardiovascular, strength, and flexibility exercises.
  • Discuss proper form and technique for each exercise.
  • Discussing the importance of variety in the routine within your specific workout plan.

Nutrition Advice

  • Discuss your current dietary habits.
  • Provide basic nutrition advice tailored to your goals.
  • Discuss what an optimal diet and hydration looks like.
  • Address any specific nutritional questions or concerns.

Q&A and Recap

  • Ask any questions to get all the clarification and understanding you need.
  • Together, summarise key points from your session.
  • PT will provide any additional resources or homework (e.g. recording food intake).

Follow-up Plan

  • Reiterating the importance of consistency and commitment.
  • Schedule any next sessions or follow-up.
  • Discuss any assignments or tasks for the client before the next meeting.
